why did you choose the atlantis project?

I saw the Atlantis Project as an opportunity to not only shadow physicians and practice my Spanish, but also as an opportunity to compare global healthcare systems.

HOW IS THE ATLANTIS PROJECT UNIQUE?

The AP is very integrative: students are provided with opportunities to approach medicine from a variety of perspectives including clinical, research, policy, and outreach.

DESCRIBE THE ATLANTIS PROJECT IN THREE WORDS:

Immersive. Integrative. Exciting.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE EXPERIENCE AS AN ATLANTIS FELLOW?

My favorite experience was shadowing a team of geriatricians as we traveled to small villages to care for palliative care patients in their homes. I'll always remember the doctor I was shadowing saying that it is as important to provide patients with a good life as it is a good death.
